Least common Factor Worksheets

What is LCM?

The Least Common Multiple (LCM) of two or more numbers is the smallest positive number that is a multiple of each of the given numbers.

Why is LCM useful?

  1. It’s commonly used in problems involving adding or subtracting fractions (to find a common denominator).
  2. It’s helpful in solving problems involving periodic events or synchronization.

Methods to find LCM:

  • Prime Factorization Method: Find the prime factorization of each number, then take the highest power of all prime factors and multiply them together.
  • Listing Multiples Method: List multiples of each number and identify the smallest common multiple.

Least Common Factor (LCF) Worksheets are designed to help students understand and practice finding the smallest factor common to two or more numbers. These worksheets provide a variety of problems that challenge students to identify the least common factor, an essential concept in number theory and basic mathematics.

These worksheets are an engaging way to build foundational skills in mathematics, reinforce understanding, and prepare for more advanced topics like the greatest common factor (GCF) and least common multiple (LCM).
