Consonant Blends Worksheets

Consonant blends, also known as consonant clusters, occur when two or more consonants are placed together in a word, and each consonant retains its individual sound. Unlike digraphs, where two consonants make one sound (like “sh” or “ch”), consonant blends allow you to hear both sounds clearly, such as in the word “blend” where both “b” and “l” are distinct.

By mastering consonant blends, learners can significantly improve their reading and writing skills, helping them to decode and spell a wider range of words with confidence!
